Canvas
Anything on canvas usually requires a stretcher bar and stretching. A stretcher bar is the frame that a canvas sits on, and stretching is the act of pulling the canvas and affixing it to the frame. Canvas stretching is a fundamental step in the preparation and preservation of canvas-based artwork.

Floater frames are thin frames that sit around the canvas with a small gap. They are a minimal and elegant way to finish off a canvas piece.
